Getting into the Christmas Spirit in Milan

Navigli, a magical enchanted night in the city always starts there. The lights along the canals in the Navigli are particularly pretty, with the reflection glittering in the water.
Perfect place where to use the KiraKira+ app (this one that will make every light shining) and don’t forget to put your phone in your pocket and dream a little bit.
Four Season Hotel Milan, feeling nostalgic about your mountain chalet? Missing a fireplace where to relax in a perfect holiday mood? Visiting this place during this period is definitely worth it, you can enjoy an apertivo or a tea time in the perfect Xmas mood.
Ristorante al Garghet, already booked until Christmas Day (you can just imagine how popular this place is), the Christmas lights will literally light up your dinner. I had the opportunity to have dinner in the first part of the restaurant where there is the live piano bar that will make your night unforgettable.
Ecliss, if this year you’re feeling a little bit the Grinch of the situation, I think that this will definitely change your opinion.
One of the most beautiful decorated Christmas shops where you can breath and enter into the Christmas mood.
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a classical place where to go if you’re visiting the city, but the Christmas decorations will make it even more magical, with a blue starry night sky. Is what you need to see after a very busy day, or where to conclude a romantic night maybe.
Be sure to spend some time looking at the sweetest (literally) advent Calendar located in the shop window of the “Pasticceria Marchesi”.
Obej Obej (which means “oh how nice!” in Milanese dialect) or Christmas markets in Duomo, if you don’t have enough time to go to Bolzano or to Switzerland (like me) you can still be happy to explore these markets located between ‘Piazza Castello’ and ‘Piazza del Duomo’.
Vanilla Bakery, the perfect place for your tea time or and holiday brunch (always on point for each festivity of the year), you will find the cutest cupcakes and biscuits, everything made with so much love.

How to spend a perfect night in London

Last week it was the birthday of one of my team member and I decided to do her a surprise. The first thing I had to plan was making sure that she would believe that I was coming to London during a different week, and that part of the plan was successful from the start. Then I started to plan what to do during her birthday since I was looking for something unique and magical. After looking on Google for a while I found a majestic hotel called The Kensington and I immediately knew that it was the perfect place where to spend a perfect night.

The Kensington is a five star hotel located, obviously, in the middle of Kensington. If you are a bit familiar with London, you already probably know that Kensington is one of the prettiest and luxurious neighborhood in the town and it’s also very close to Knightsbridge (Harrods anyone?).

After a long day of wandering in London, it was easy to reach the hotel since it’s very close to the South Kensington Station (Piccadilly, Circle and District Line) and as soon as we got there, their amazing staff welcomed us in the best way possible. It was also very nice knowing that some of their staff is Italian since, as you may know, I’m Italian as well. We were also very lucky to come during November since the hotel was already full of Christmas decoration. You guys, you have no idea how magical was to just walk in into their amazing entrance it felt like I was at home the day before Christmas.

After checking in we moved to our room which was incredibly amazing! The first thing that I noticed was the size of the room which was very big since London is also famous for hotels offering very small rooms. I still speechless about the bathroom, which was so luxurious and enormous and featured an amazingly designed bathtub.

After a long bubbly bathtub it was time to go to dinner to their Town House restaurant and I could not contain my excitement. The dinner setting was so intimate and cozy, but the food is what made a difference. Everything in the menu seemed so delicious so it was really hard to choose, but the Maître was extremely helpful and we ended up eating one of the best dinner of our lives. Right next to the restaurant they also have the prettiest and most elegant bar ever, which is also open 24h (crazy right?!).

The next morning, we woke up with the sound of knocking on our door which was announcing that our breakfast was here. Pancakes, açai bowl, croissant and one of the best avocado toast I ever tried made our waking up less painful since, honestly, who would have ever leave that extremely comfy bed?!

After the delicious breakfast sadly it was time to leave, but the staff took care of us until we took the last step outside the hotel. What was left to do was visiting the city for one last day knowing that I manage to do the perfect surprise.

I was welcomed by The Kensington as a guest but as always opinions are my own.

Never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

This year was one of the most outstanding and amazing year I ever lived. I decided to begin a new sort of life and I started dreaming even more, opening this website.

And I also found an editor that support me everywhere in the world and for everything…

We grew up so much, we learned what making sacrifices really mean, we got so stressed and happy at the same time, but most important thing, we managed to really live every single day.

Here you find some thoughts from my editor, Rossella, about this 2016.

Another year came to an end I though that it’s time to write down some words. All the things that I’m writing comes from our personal experience.

This year was also one of the most difficult one. As you may know, we both study Economics, which means spending the majority of our time on books, preparing for exams that are almost always pretty difficult. At the same time, we both really wanted to travel and to make our blog and Instagram page grow. We worked so hard on doing everything, you can’t even imagine and we’re both satisfied with the results. We had to sacrificed time with friends, and also time for ourselves. I still have to figure out how to make everything work, even if I strongly believe that there’s not a recipe for that and it might takes me ages to finally makes everything alright.

Our lives, especially Pietro’s one, are not polished as they look. But you know, something I’ve learned this year, mostly thanks to Pietro, is that problems and challenges only makes you stronger and aware of what you can really do. If one year ago, someone told me that in a year I would participate in a project like ours, I would not believed that. I never thought that I could be able to create anything even close to this blog, create content, photos, etc. as I always though that the only thing I could ever wish for was an ordinary life as I am one of the most ordinary people you could ever meet. But the reality is that if you have any dream, idea or project you wanna pursuit, you can actually make it comes true. I will never thank Pietro enough for making me part of his project, for believing in me enough to let me enter in his little beautiful world, but mostly I have to thank myself for finally understanding that I can make my dreams come true if I work hard. And if you came to this point, I wish that in 2017 you will work really hard, because dreams really do come true and never let anyone tell you differently.

Okay, I’m done blabbing. This year we went to London, Rome, Berlin, Croatia, Munich and Montecarlo and Pietro also went to Vienna, Amsterdam, India  (he still has to publish pictures from this travel), Lake Como and Venice.

We are waiting (impatiently) for the new year hoping that will be even more exciting than this one.

Here are our favorite photos from 2016, hope you enjoy.

A big thank you to those who are constantly present every day.
